My self portrait expresses how I try to remember everything around me. I used small strips of color to denote my memories, and they increase and become more chaotic as the levels of "memories" grow. In the end, they eventually spill out of the paper itself because there are too many to remember.

I really like the use of colour in the small paper strips and how the mix of colours transition very nicely. The concept, while not obvious without the explanation is a very interesting take on a self portrait, which i really appreciate.
ReplyDeleteI love the symbolic use of colors and their placement where with a clean slate you have the pureness of white and as her life advances so does the complexity of the piece. There are many more hues to represent the extent to which she delves into situations. The black chaos I feel can also represent the limitless possibilities which cannot even be found or imagined yet. Great piece.
ReplyDeleteIt is really ceative to use all the colors and little strips to do this self portrait assignment. I like it a lot! At first, I cannot understand the concept behind it but after I know the meaning. It become all clear.
